Week 3 day 3

2 more days to the dateline!!! Miss Ng briefed us yesterday abt the whole 'package' that we need to pass up. Ian hasn;t complete the town graphic.. This is getting me anxious!!

We started on Web design and poster is almost completed yesterday.. today shall start on the packaging design.. Zero and Alvin shall work on the scripting while i will finish up the web design if i can by today.. We're going to film the videos today too..

Problems faced now: We can't borrow the video cam.. need at least 1 day to tell the administrator.. OMG~

Solution: Zero got his friend to borrow a video cam.. and firewire from the dv students.. when videos are finished, we can putinto our appilcation le..

Now left the town part for the application.. Hope Ian finishes his work by afternoon..

Home section is still not completed!

What we did today: Alvin is still working on the kitchen graphics.. too many details need to be done.. Ian is on downtown graphic.. i started to work on the poster after i finish the car interface and zero is on the car scripting..

Problems: We're working WAY TOO SLOW!

Thoughts: Can we really finish the whole interface by Friday?

Last thursday and Friday wasn;t in school.. was feeling unwell.. so the guys did their work while i did graphics at home..
Zero was still doing scripting, alvin and ian were on graphics too.. there are too many graphics to be done.. was really scared tat we can't finish.. we aimed to finish the home section by monday at least..
If the home section is finished, we'll be back on track again..

Presentation 2

2nd presentation today.. but is another 2nd great disappointment.. many details and concepts of interfaces are wrong.. were speechless when lecturers pin point the mistakes..

Just now really gave me a shock.. my car which i spent 6 hrs on it has error! can't get it open.. neither on mac or pc.. nearly cried cuz really spent alot of time on it.. but luckily i found another file in the trashbin.. quickly retrieved it.. or else i have to do the graphics all over again..
Lesson learnt: dun always empty yr trashbins.. and pls do save at least 3 back ups in different places..

kind of slow down again cuz have the do the scripting almost all over again.. we aim to finish the home section by friday evening.. then weekends rush for the town graphics and web.. really hope that we'll finish all the things before the dateline..

Everyone's very fast in doing their work today...

Adeline finished her assigned graphics, and began to work on the car interior interface
Alvin's finished the home section today, but still making graphics for the sub section SINK
Ian still doing on the downtown interface, and also proceeding to the sub section soon.
Whereas I, was struggling doing scripting the whole entire day, managed to solved the action script problem from yesterday, used graphics which were completed by my other team mates and started doing flash and director, eventually, I finished the minimal interface scripting, putting up everything, and whatever you call it, by 12.15am Wednesday. Oh god, we have made it in time for presentation later today...

Week 2!

Today got quite alot of things done.. so was relieved that our group was back on track..
Alvin has completed his part on the main screen graphics( living room and kitchen)
Ian is still on his "town" graphic while i've completed the transport background and the car itself..
Wednesday is the presentation for the mock up.. zero is still on it.. kinda difficult becuz our screen is a moving screen.. hope we'll get it done by tml..

The guys are too lazy to update.. so i have to do the job.. * if i dun go hell.. hu will go?* haha..
Yesterday had to rethink our whole concept.. start from scratch.. so today.. our concept is finally accepted by Miss Ng! So just completed our new storyboard.. me and alvin will start on the graphics.. while zero will search for ideas for the transitions..
Our poor Ian has been ill for 2 days.. hope he'll get well soon..

Presentation today.. definately not a good one.. too many problems occurred.. kanna 'shoot' by lecturers.. laughed by them.. i wonder what's so funny? Our concepts wrong? Names not appropriate?

I admit that we din do well enough.. But we did put our effort in doing the work.. argh! was a little pissed that our group is being pushed back.. in fact we're ready le! they just called other groups when they see one of us trying to make his tie neater..

The lecturers might be seeing this.. haha.. but is not tat i dun respect them, but just want to say out what we're thinking abt (dunno will they penalise us anot) haha.. but isn't better than backstabbing and then trying to act innocent in front of them right? hee hee..

So now,
Problems for today - Flowchart and storyboard need to redo to make it better
- Flow of storyline is not smooth enough
- Need to think of another concept
- Graphics need to be improved, maximise the use of space

Day 2

Yet another hectic,

Adeline's on the graphic, designing the sub page for presentation, and did the flowchart

Alvin's working on director's coding, trying out how to blend, hours and hours of testing, he finally got the solution. He's doing the main storyboard

Ian's on the team logo, main page, splash page outlook, and editing other graphic images that is given to him

Yan Wei's done 30% of the flash intro which will be embedded onto the director http://home.pacific.net.sg/~zeroxl/loadermx.html and is doing on the other storyboard.

Problem faced, school's mac shutting it's program by itself, authoring's blending code, images sources, and what colour should our interface's surrounding look like

Description
Providing a new and dynamic way for viewing the future, our project focuses on bringing the future to you. By putting yourself in the shoes of someone from the future in the future world, our project will allow you to experience the future firsthand. Experience the lifestyle of the future now.

Goals & Objectives
The aims and goals of our project are to present the people a glimpse of what Singapore will be like in 2050. On top of that, is to provide a fun and innovative way of experiencing the future.
As many may think that the future might be a bleak one after disasters happened one after another, etc: Sept 11, terrorists attack, SARS in Southeast Asia and even the most recent hurricane disaster in US, but we will like to present the future by providing hope for the people despite the recent events.

Targeted Platform and Target Audience
We’ll be using Mac and PC for our project. Target audience will be the teens aged from 10 to 18 because they will more likely to be interested what will happen in the future, and most probably be still around in the year 2050.

Project Overview
Our project is going to cover 3 main sections namely, home, school and downtown in which will be presented in a first person’s view of the user. We want the user to experience our impression of the future through a list of interactive activities.
To bring the user closer to the environment that is provided in the application, he/she will be able to browse through the application with their name and preferences. The applications also seek to present ideas of the future in various means through dialogue boxes.
